Nice! Definitely my preferred hanging method. My last overnight was at a campsite that had been picked clean and took me 15 minutes to find a suitable stick. I tried to order twice in the past two weeks, but he was out of stock. Now he's good with about 180 in stock, so time to order.
I know I'm going to lose it tho, lol. Next time I order something from him, I'll probably grab another
I'm with you on loosing it. I'm going to make a conscious effort to hook the cord loop on my bear bag caribeaner when not in use.
I had been using a shepherd’s hook style stake for my toggle, so that it serves as a backup stake as well. Dutch’s toggle is smaller and easier to use though. I found it hard to do that clove hitch or MSH with all that tension on the rope and with the thin line digging into my hand as I do it is a pain.
Can’t wait til Dutch invents a titanium tree!
I was thinking that incorporating the toggle into a stake would be cool but yeah... he should just make a whole tree, lol
Dutch didn't make me a better man. Mostly he just made me a more comfortable and less rich man.
Yeah.. this hammocking bitness adds up!
you could use one of these https://dutchwaregear.com/product/3-8-side-release/ along with some zing it or dutchwire and put one end on the bear bag toggle and one on end on the food bag its self or on your backpack. this way when not in use you can store it there when not in use
