    SLOVAKIA: after the rainfall

Scary storm happening up there when we started the hike, some rain dropped, but stopped right after we finished building our large tarps. Pitty. Then the sky cleared, there was 0 wind, absolute silence with scattered birds songs and mouflons callings. One of the most beautiful evenings that I spend outside. Magic old woods on the ridge, billions of stars, and that smell, that spreads after the rain from the vegetation in bloom. Rich tea from lemon balm that we found on the hike. Hanging over blueberry field, but the animals are always faster.

I'm convinced that garden gnomes follow the kardinal to all of his hanging locations and prepare a feast for the eyes just before he triggers the camera shutter. Gorgeous lenscapes!

I feel the urge to book a flight every time kardinal_emilus posts these pictures! This is a truly beckoning place in the world. Someday, perhaps.

You know, sometimes I hike and I see the trail like this, and I take a picture that never looks how it looks to you while you are there. There are so many pictures I see where people use photoshop to adjust the image to try and match their experience of that moment, but it somehow cheapens the photo, and the experience cannot be shared with the viewer when they sense the photo is altered.
How you take the photos that let me see and feel your experience, without feeling that the photos are altered, I will never know. But I am glad to experience it, at least through my computer!
