    Hammock tie out lines

My Dutch Chameleon hammock tie outs are 5 1/2' end to end. You must understand they are adjustable from both ends where they attach to the hammock..
You should contact Jared at SLD he would know best as he made your hammock

https://dutchwaregear.com/product/line-lock-hook/ these are the adjusters that attach to the hammock
https://dutchwaregear.com/product/cord-end-cap/ these are the cord end caps that stop the line from coming out of the adjusters.

Does anyone have any advice on a good length to cut my 1/8" shock cord ? I've never seen them on someone else hammock in person to get an idea of how far away my stakes are supposed to be to make the correct angle (if there is one).Every time that I search both on google and this forum I get results for tarps. Thanks.
I'd make them long enough to attach to your tarp stakes. You may end up not actually attaching them there, but it is good to have that as an option...saves you from having to put out the extra stakes.

That’s probably because the exact distance is irrelevant. As long as the tie outs are able to keep the mesh off your face, and that’s all you can ask from them. Mine are 3 or 4 feet long, and I usually keep enough cordage around to make extensions in case I need to tie them out to trees or branches that obviously fall outside the tarp coverage. I don’t use grounds stakes for either my tarp nor my hammock guylines. I’ve always been able to find anchor points in the surroundings where I camp.
