Yeah, whenever there's pump water I'll bring my Hiker Pro pump that has a charcoal filter. I'll safe the BeFree and Sawyers for the mountain springs/rivers. Did this trail in it's entirety a year or so ago, but have been back to the North Eastern half several times for overnights. Its true there's no rocks to look out for, but still gotta keep your eyes on the ground; I've never been there when we didn't see at least one snake on the trail. Copperheads and Cottonmouths are in abundance. I think pigmy rattlesnakes too, but I've not seen one yet. Great place for herpetology.

Great Video Shug, awaiting part 2 on baited breath!

While there are poisonous snakes on the trail, I have yet to see any of them. I do see lots of Black snakes, Yellow Rat Snakes and Rough Green Snakes. Rattlesnakes are rare in this area.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

I think he spent more time going thru the meals he brought for the week trying to decide which ones to take than he did anything else. I took the opportunity to take a few pictures

I've always felt like herpetology wins the contest for "things that aren't what they sound like".

Not sure where to begin. Always good to see you and Hickery out on the trail. Am looking forward to the next installment of the Neusiok Trail story. Thanks for explaining the Eldorado.
