Here in the United States those plants are called 'ramps.' They are in the same family as garlic (Amaryllidaceae), but not the same plant. Ramps are delicious, I hunt them myself sometimes. People go crazy for them in the Eastern US. There are dozens of festivals celebrating them every spring throughout the Appalachians where they are native.
