On this trip we found ourselves back down in Oregon on the Wenaha River. We had just been down there in September and thru-hiked the river trail, but this time we turned up the Crooked Creek drainage. We were looking for a place where we could get some hiking in without having to posthole through the snow.
In North Eastern Oregon, it felt like summer had already arrived. It was quite a change from the snow we still had in North Idaho.
Not knowing if we would climb into the snow or not, we brought extra gear that weighed us down some, but in the end, we missed the snow completely. It was just want we wanted and turned out to be a great spring trip.
