VIDEO: North Carolina Overnighter - Shining Rock Wilderness

Enjoyed a nice 14 mile overnighter this past weekend in Shining Rock Wilderness. We had perfect weather and water was flowing everywhere due to some recent heavy rain. Good times!

Looks like you had some great weather and beautiful scenery. Love all the flowing creeks and waterfalls. I haven’t done those trails but I can picture the elevation gain and loss up to the ridge.

How was the coffee you tried? Any cheaper than the Via’s?

Looks like a good overnighter. How was the cafe bustelo?

The cafe bustello was really good, I think it will be my go to for now on. I mixed it with a little hot chocolate powder. As far as price I’m not sure, it was on sale when I bought it but I think it is a little less or comparable to Starbucks. Starbucks is a little more bitter tasting in my opinion

Looks like a nice trip - I'm always looking for nice stream-side trails which my daughters seem to prefer to ridge hopping. Looked like some potential for native trout, too. Well done on the video editing!

I need to check out the Cafe Bustello, it pops up when I'm browsing Amazon periodically. I've lately been stuck on Mount Hagen lately which I'd rate below the *$ Vias in terms of flavor, but the value is tremendous and the coffee acceptable. The price fluctuates a lot, but is often $5-6 for 25 packets as a Prime add-on, or more often ~$10 as straight Prime. It occasionally spikes as high as $15 at which point I just ignore it.

Cool! I think we did that exact loop Saturday before Thanksgiving. It rained then turned to freezing rain. Froze my butt off! Thanks for video.
