First hammock was the backyard cotton rope/oak spreader bar tippy kind hung between 2 trees...could not ever imagine sleeping in that!

First CAMPING hammock was a DIY I put together to see if I would like sleeping in a hammock, after finding this forum. The first time I hung it up and got into it, I fell to the ground and cracked a rib in my back! The problem was that I hung it using a marlin spike hitch, but had unknowingly picked up a rotten stick to use as the toggle, and the stick broke when I climbed in. Fortunately, this did not deter me from hammocking.

My first camping hammock was a bottom entry Hennessey. That was a great hammock to start with. I had read a bunch on here before buying it but I was still pretty confused. I wasn't sure what the difference between a hammock ridgeline and tarp ridgeline were, much less tie outs or quilt hooks. The Hennessey gave me everything I needed to get started in one package. Once I figured things out a little bit I upgraded. Many hammocks later I am using a Dutch Chameleon and JRB Bear Mountain Bridge as my main hammocks.

Started out with a BIAS Weight Weenie gathered end hammock and that is still what I'm using. Along the way I tried a bridge hammock and did not find the extra weight led to more comfort, so sold it off.

Hennessey Hammock Explorer Deluxe Classic XL w/hex tarp was my first hammock. Current favorite hammock is a Warbonnet (WB) Eldorado and a WB Minifly tarp. I also use a WB Traveler netless hammock for day trips. I use the becket hitch suspension on both WB hammocks.

First hammock was a cheap Amazon label hammock I took camping with me a couple of winters ago. Couldn't sleep in the tent so I moved into the hammock at 2 AM and slept like a baby. Ordered an Amok Draumr not long after along with a Tensa stand. Last year I added a Warbonnet Traveler and a Dutchware Netless is on the way. I've also become fascinated with the Helsdon hammock tent and am trying to justify the expense.

I didn't think I'm going to use it for camping when I bought it. Then I tried and it changed my life

My first hammock was a hennessy hammock which I got rid of very quickly back in 2010 or 2011. I went through many DIY iterations over the years but then I got one of the first Warbonnet Ridgerunners and have several of them now.... basically the perfect hammock if you ask me.

You should try a Towns End Bridge
