Kammock Roo was my first hammock. Love it and have enjoyed quite a few nights in it. Picked up my second hammock a couple weeks back, heavyweight double layer Blackbird XLC. Best nights sleep outside I have ever had. It's a keeper. Now if I can summon the patience to wait for my 0 degree wookie that will be great.

My first hammock was one of the blue Walmart hammocks. My latest is a new version XLC.

My first was a Claytor mosquito hammock that was too small for me, then a Warbonnet Blackbird XLC and just now a Dutchwear Half Zipped Wide. The Dutchwear wide is HUGE! I hope it doesn't present issues with my underquilt.

my first hammock depends... I experimented with a common blue tarp after watching some YouTube and before I came across HF... graduated from that to the blue Walmart variety... upgraded a few times, now swinging in a Dutch Chameleon

Started off with a cheapy Amazon Aviation Gear just to get my feet wet.
It was great for lazy days around the campfire, but like many of you I had to graduate.

Moved up to the Heavyweight Double layer WBBB XLC.
I'm not a big guy by any means (5' 9 - 165), but I opted for the Heavyweight Double because I found the single too stretchy and since I'm primarily a section Hiker I found the weight to not be a factor.

Just upgraded the suspension and aquired new Dutch Clips/Spiders and Webbing. Gonna take them for a spin this weekend for a 3 nighter.

These things are addicting as heck!!!!!

    FIRST:

I brought the hammock back from Paraguay. This is the first time I set it up to camp. 5 days at BSA Camp Pirtle in Texas. I've since learned not to use paracord. The tarp is an ultralight backpacking tarp I found at Walmart for like $8. Used a cheap Walmart summer sleeping bag & did not know what an UQ was.

My next hammock was an OuterEQ from Amazon.

    CURRENT:

Dutch's Chameleon in Hexon 1.6. Ratchet straps for suspension. Tarp is Chill Gorilla Hex. Not shown but TQ & UQ are both snugpak. Loofah snakeskin.

Well, to give away my age........

First hammock was purchased at the Army Navy surplus store in Charleston SC back in 1987. It was a cheaply made GI style jungle hammock with an attached nylon fly & a canvas bottom.
Back then I could sleep on rocks so comfort was no biggie. I think it cost around $30 bucks or so.

Current hammock is a Warbonnet Blackbird 1.1 double layer that I purchased new online.
Great hammock for my needs, has held up to lots of use, and I would buy it again.
I like to go solo - off trail - immerse myself in the area - explore - eat really well - and make it back home.

For my first hammock, I jumped in with both feet and bought a Warbonnet Blackbird. At the time, there weren't too many other vendors beside Hennessey. Wonderful hammock, very innovative. One of my sons now has it.
For years now I'm sleeping in a DIY simple 54" wide, 11' long gathered end of 1.4oz nylon. The only mods are a 2" convex curve at the foot end, and footboxes on each side made of netting. I use it with a Fronkey bugnet with no shock cord underneath. My reason for change is twofold. One, freedom; I like to toss & turn, side sleep, fetal sleep, even switching diagonals during the night. The other is quick entry & exit from both sides, no zippers involved.
