My first hammock was a Hennessy Expedition Asym Zip. It taught me a lot about hammock construction as I swapped suspensions and tried everything from whoopies to cinch buckles to Marlinspike hitches. It also taught me the value of a good underquilt after playing with the Super Shelter for a while. It also gave me my first really good 8 hour sleep in the woods.

For the last four years I've used a Dream Hammock Sparrow. It's taken me down to -15 F and through 12 hour rainstorms. Much more confortable than the Hennessy, but not 100%. So I've just added a Dutchware Chameleon wide. After some basement testing the extra width might get me the final bit of comfort that I need. We'll see when I take it to the woods in June.

Slept on a hammock for the first time less than a month ago. Sleeping better on my turtledog than I slept in a bed. Sleeping on a Dutch 11' wide netless. Have a Dream Hammock Sparrow on order.

First Hammock was a MalloMe Double Portable Camping Hammock from Amazon. Not bad but bulky and heavy. I slept in a HH ASYM for uncomfortable one night just did not like the way the bottom entry pressed on my calves. I just got a Wilderness Logics Lite Owl. I laid in it for the first time and it was like a glove perfect.

Eno double nest was first .used it one afternoon then went to a Hennessy for a season . Purchased a Hammeck netty and that lasted a season before I sorta went full circle and decided I hate an integrated single zipper net, which I loved at first .A few years ago I picked up a 11ft Dutch netless with dual knotty mods and use a fronky type net. This works best for me and will continue to use this going forward. The ability to reach out either side and make a quilt adjustment is a big plus for me.

Probably like others I started with an ENO singlenest. Fine for park or backyard lounging but not anything you want to try to sleep in. Now have an SLD tree lair that I've spent a few nights in. Have an Amok on order and looking forward to comparing the 90 degree style to my tree lair. Would love to convert to hammock sleeping at home but haven't quite decided on the best way to make that happen from a stand point of view.

First was a cheap hammock from Wish, then a Bear butt double.

Now I am loving my Blackbird Xlc

My first was one that I made with a blanket & some rope back when I was a kid.

The first commercially made one was of those mesh hammocks sold in surplus stores back in the 80's/90s. It sucked.

My first "real" hammock was HH Exploreer Deluxe. It was better.

Many, many hammocks since have taught me that I am not compatible with most/all GE designs, thus my final Hammock destination (so far) is a WBRR. It is simply wonderful!
