    Explorer suspension mod issues?

I read somewhere that people found that using cinch straps changed the way the hammock lay worked but can't find the details. Anyone have any info on this?

I had changed over to cinch straps a while back and thought I noticed a difference but figured I was overthinking it. Now I'm curious.

    I’m not sure
Your suspension hang angle can influence how your hammock feels to you while you are in your hammock.
A fixed hammock structural ridgeline can minimize effects of hang angle being different than 30 degrees. Others have posted that hang angles that differ greatly from 30 degrees can yield a different lay even with a fixed hammock structural ridgeline.
PapaSmurf at DreamHammocks has made an excellent video illustrating how suspension hang angle corresponds with tension of structural ridgeline.

This is my experience, specifically in my HH Explorer. I found the more tension there was on the ridgeline (lower hang angle), the more comfortable I was, to a point. This is true for both the original Spectra suspension and the CLs I put on later.

How much the hang angle differed from 30 degrees, I can't say; not a lot, I think. That hammock seems to be sensitive to small changes.
