I prefer straps though they are kind of bulky. One of the issues I have where I am at is we have big trees and many times the straps aren't long enough to go around the circumference of the tree and still leave me enough strap for hanging. So now I carry dog bones for when I need that extra little length to get around the tree.

    Remington or Mossberg? Remington.

It will come down to what you ultimately will like. Try one and if that does not work get the other. Use both and switch out as the trip needs change.

Buckles and straps are easy and adaptable. Whoopies, or UCR's are lighter, fiddly and fun, and a bit more challenging on the tree spacing.

I prefer the buckles and carry at least two spare ucr's for extra length, hanging the hammock chair, or other various stuffs.

My reasons for preferring whoopie slings are:

    1. I DIY them and that makes me feel good.

    2. I like to watch people’s brains explode when I use a small stick to secure the Marlinspike Hitch and they think I’m hanging off the stick.

    3. I get to say whoopie slings.

Weight / convenience / tree distance etc are all down to individual circumstances and preferences.

I have 3 WBBB XLC and am going to switch over to CL and Beatle Buckles from straps and buckles.
The buckle suspension is fantastic and fast, but i hated having to pack wet, sap laden straps in with my hammock. So at least with the beatle bucks, i can have my straps in a zip lock bag and hang those to the trees first and then just hook the CL on from inside the double ended stuff sack.

Can you elaborate on the spacer ucrs? I have the WBBB XLC and the buckles are attached to the continuous loop so I cannot detach them so how would that work? Oh and I run about 250 if that matters.

For $10 extra, the webbing / cinch buckle suspension is a no-brainer in my opinion. You can easily DIY continuous loops or whoopie slings if you want to try other options. But the Warbonnet cinch buckle suspension is easy to use and 100% dependable. I always have one on one of my many hammocks, although I switched to Beetle Buckles with Dyneema/Polypro straps on my hiking hammock because they're lighter and you can take off wet or dirty straps. I'm not a fan of whoopie slings as a primary suspension, because you can't adjust them right to the tree. I like to use them as an extension for the Beetle Buckles, though, if I need to go wide.

I prefer the webbing and buckles. Little quicker to setup.

This is a small thing but when packing for a trip, I know I have my suspension when I grab the hammock because it’s attached. Same thing at camp.

The way Brandon @ Warbonnet makes his buckle set, you can use them as buckle/straps, CL/Becket Hitch, CL/Beetle Buckles, CL,Whoopie Sling W/Whoopie Hook.
That's because the 2 piece buckle set is loose on the CL. Just move them to the side an use any of the above systems.

Whoopies. If you can use a smart phone, you can learn whoopies in about 2 mins.
