I doubt I'm the first to try this but thought I'd pass the idea along.
Until recently I've only ever used D-rings and knots to guy out my tarp so I decided to put line locks (along with D-rings) on my recent hex tarp. After using them a few times I have really liked them. I still use my other larger 12X10 tarp for hanging double and when I want doors and have been debating adding the line lock to the tieouts. It would be fairly simple to add them along side the d-rings but since that tarp has so many tieouts I put the idea on the back-burner. I saw the Line Lock Hooks when they were introduced but it didn't "click" until I saw videos of how they can snap onto D-rings. I figured they would probably work on my tarp d-rings as well.
Long story short I tried them out last weekend and they worked perfectly. I like being able to easily detach the lines from the tarp.

I can see the hook portion being a weak point but they are cheap and easily replaceable; this could make them a good fail-safe point.
