I'm a little confused by the 9lbs part. hammock, tarp, UQ, and TQ = 5llbs max.

Are you wanting to go full gram weenie? That's gonna be expensive. What is the budget you're working with?

I think my amok, with a fullsize pillow, and an extra wool blanket is well under 9lbs, and I'm pretty sure that's not what you're after

    need more details

For the Carolinas, that's not too hard at all if you go with cutting edge cottage vendor-made equipment. Off the top of my head, here are some of my favorites, and there are lighter options in every category, but this set-up would be luxurious and still slash your specified weight goal nearly in half...

Dutchware Half-Wit or Half-Zipped integrated-net hammock in Hexon 1.0 -- under 1 lb (or DH Darien in 1.2 oz ROBIC for heavier hangers)
Loco Libre Gear Operator Series Ghost Pepper 20F top quilt -- approx 1.25 lb
Loco Libre Gear Habanero 30F underquilt -- approx 1.25 lb
Dutchware Spider Web 2.0 tree huggers & DIY UCRs (hammock suspension) -- approx 0.25 lb
Hammock Gear Dyneema Cuben Fiber hex tarp (or virually any asym tarp for less volume) -- approx 0.5 lb
Durchware Gear CRL or Stingerz w/ Lash-It tie-outs (tarp ridge line) -- approx 0.25 lb
Ancillary gear (stakes & guylines) -- approx 0.5 lb

What does 9lb include? Your pack and other stuff too? How much are you willing to spend? Will you pay for cuben fiber? Do you need a bugnet? How much tarp coverage do you want? Any general preferences? What's your temperature range at night?

Check Bonefire Gear, pair the whisper (2#) with a 10’ cuben tarp (5 oz) and a good 30 degree to (19 oz) and that is 3.5 lbs for shelter and insulation. Check out Bonefire’s all in one suspension. Should take you to around 30*. The 19 oz is my 35* tq I use to 30*. You’ll find Bonefire makes a very comfortable hammock.

Here's my gear list (same as sig below) that pretty much fits the bill.

Sub 9# base is "no stones un-turned" UL with light tarp and quilts, and all other kit as well, incl clothing, cooking, repair/first aid/electronics, etc.

You don't actually need a super light hammock to achieve it. My DH Darien with Venom straps for suspension weighs in at 18.26 oz, which is certainly not heavy but also far from the lightest available. However it has a built-in bug net (which I'll need anyway) and is made of durable 1.7 Robic and should last a long, long time.
