    Glad you found it helpful.

I still gain some insight looking at other ULers' lists, although I think some people tend to leave things out or don't actually weigh and "mis-underestimate", and thus spreadsheet weight and trail head weight are not the same. No biggie, but IMO if you're going to engage in the exercise might as well be brutally honest and realistic about it for those who seek to replicate.

In fact, I added a couple of things that I left out, such as underwear and bear bag hoisting rig, which came in very handy for lifting 4 food bags with combined weight of about 30 lbs the first night!

    Yes sir

Im headed out to thru hike the bartram trail starting this saturday to next sunday. Ive got my base weight to 10.49 lbs, my quilts and extra clothes are weighing me down, I keep looking at the weather hoping for it to warm up some but it looks like I am going to have to carry my 20° set. I have a lighterpack.com set up but it's a little sloppy. I will clean it up and share it if you're interested in taking a peek at.

    Have a great trip!

Your pack is plenty light enough that you'll have a much easier go of it than most. (I'll guess 22-23 lbs?) The food bag will be the heaviest item by far, although it starts getting lighter right away. Just be glad you don't have to carry a bear canister!

I hope this helps. Here is one of my gear lists that helps you see what I might take. I always carry my insulated hammock when I can to save time and weight.

Right on thank you for your input, i just listen to your episode of HYOH podcast and i really enjoyed what yall discussed, your perspective on insulation is one ive never looked at. I will definitely be using this for comparison.

    THANK YOU

Here is what I am transitioning to for Spring/Summer.

I will swap out the TQ for a 14 oz. JRB Summer blanket when appropriate or just carry both.

I actually weighed and included everything in my pack for a 3 day trip I’m doing next weekend. I’m at 12.7 lbs before food, fuel and water. I’m quite happy with what I’ve done to reduce weight on my budget this year.

Next step is a big one, to drop about 2 lbs I need to spend $600 at Hammock Gear and after that I start getting into silly territory to drop more from my base weight.

If you or anyone is interested in my set up or spreadsheet just let me know.
