Things to do:
Hiking / Mountain Biking : 30.5 miles of Hiking and Mountain Bike trails. Also 7.5 Hiking only.
Fishing: Lake Norman and the Park has its own lake as well.
Boating / Kayaks:Check the park site for details on rules and what's available.FYI (Group site B is beside the lake so you could probably put a Kayak in from the campsite)

Other Information: Lake Norman is the largest manmade lake in NC.
Lots of Native American history in this area. This was where the Catawba Indians once lived. Checkout the History page below.

Meals on your on except Sat night possibly a (Pot Luck-Share) type meal. The sign up sheet has a place to list things so we don't duplicate to much. Lol

FYI : This is also the weekend before Speed week at Charlotte (CMS) All Star Race Just in case you are coming this way the weekend before. Come hang with us and then head to Charlotte (CMS) on that Monday or rent you another site after the hang for a few days before race week. If I have left anything out check back or ask away on this site or the TSH FaceBook page.

Largest Manmade Lake in North Carolina 30.5 Mile Mountain Bike Trails. Campsite (Group Site) "B" is right beside the water (No Gators) lol Should be a fun park.....

Mr. (Chuck) Pappy we got you down buddy. I think Jeff from New Hanover County is coming over this way as well. We need Gunner and The Terminator to bring "Sam" and yall will have the east coast well represented indeed.

I've heard of folks finding Arrowheads and stuff from time to time. I think we may can do some scouting anyway.... Hope to see ya!

I "May" (Ba Dum Tiss) try to make it down to this one, it depends on what my May schedule turns out to look like. Love Lake Norman, my families got a lakefront lot down there we go to once or twice a year. If it works out, it'll be nice to get down that way again.

Me and PappyAmos will be lost without you & (Sam). Who will eat our leftovers and bits of bacon that we drop. We need to see how well Sam swims chasing a stick in the lake.
Give us your Boss's number...... We will start a Melee if you have to work on May-Lay weekend! Lol

I haven't heard about this hang before. It is in MY neighborhood. I'm on vacation that week and might be at the beach, or at least that was the plan. Have to check with the misses.

Peeeeetey- Take me to the beach Lol We were wanting to have an April or May hang and was hoping for one of the western State Parks since the last few have been east. After this late Winter weather and checking with many of the western parks, many either don't have enough trees in the group areas or they don't have running water/shower (Mostly for Families) and or have to hike in from the parking area. We will prob do some hike in renegade (they call it) dry camping more for individuals or couples when we don't need to car camp. If you get back early or stay around the house come on by and hang with us. No portable bath needed lol
PS: If anyone can suggest a more western State Park that offers what I listed please suggest one and we will check into it. Some had water and no shower or hike in a mile from parking or No trees Etc. Tks

Fireman- David, Glad to have yall coming out. She gonna try a hammock? Lol if not I'm sure we can find tent space haha. If you don't mind try to sign the Google spreadsheet on the first page and fill in the info. Bring a yak/boat if ya got one (I don't) but I might barrow one lol If the page won't open let me know and I'll put yall on there for ya. That's the way were keeping up with the head count in case we need an additional site if we go over the limit. Thanks

Just FYI- If anyone wants to or would rather camp with your family and just visit or hang a couple nights with us and then do the family thing that is an option.
