AZ > Long Valley Campground > 4th Annual Fall Group Hang Oct. 4-8, 2018

Come to the Fourth Annual AZ Fall Hang!

Once again we have reserved the Long Valley Campground near Clint's Well up on the Mogollon Rim for our fourth annual fall group hang. The site will be open to us from Thursday October 4th at 2pm, to Monday October 8th at 12pm. We added Sunday night this year since for some it is a holiday weekend. Whether you would like to join us for just a day, or for all four nights we would love to see you up there.

The Long Valley site is located in the cool pines of the Coconino National Forest at 6950 ft and has:
    • 5+ private wooded acres = lots of trees
    • 3 pedestal grills
    • A group fire pit
    • 10 picnic tables
    • Vault toilets for up to 50 people
    • Close access to hiking trails, sightseeing, wildlife viewing, and Blue Ridge Reservoir
    • Trash service

There is still no water so you make sure that you bring enough. They are working on getting water in the future. It may come this year, I will continue to check.

If you plan to attend please let us know to expect you.
The site cost $160 for the four nights. I will not be asking anyone for money but donations will be welcome.
The hang has been family friendly the last three years and everyone has had a good time.

    Historical Weather
    Highs - 65
    Lows - 34

If you are new to the area you can get digital maps here. https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/cocon...telprdb5356224 Look for the South Travel Map.
There are two main ways to enter the campsite from Highway 87.
    • From the south side you can to turn right onto FR 147 and then immediately left onto FR 147A.
    • From the north side of the camp you turn onto FR 141. You travel in a little way before turning right onto FR 147A.

The forest roads are well graded. The entrance to the campsite is a little bumpy, but there is no problem coming in a smaller car.

Campsite rules and roadmap available in attachments.

We have happily had dogs each year at the hang each year, but we always get the question.
    The Coconino National Forest Policy is;
Generally, dogs (pets), are allowed anywhere in the forest provided they are contained (as in a vehicle or a cage) or leashed at all times.

    The Campsite Policies are:
    1. Pets must always be contained or on a leash.
    2. You must clean up after them and dispose of the waste.

** I sent a private message to everyone that showed interest in the past just to make sure that you are aware. **

As always I will keep track of those that have responded and whether or not they plan to attend. List is in the attachments.
