Tato Gear clip on for underquilt!

Hi all, I wanted to share my solution for securing an underquilt to a gathered end hammock, specifically, to fix the underquilt to the edges of the hammock where you need it to stay. In my case, I have a Chameleon hammock and Hammock Gear (Econ 40) underquilt, and I was constantly looking for the best way to fix the underquilt to the edge of the hammock by my shoulder on one side and my feet on the other. I was always having to pull the quilt up in those spots. Here's is what I found works great! The Tato Gear clip on tarp pulls can be used to cinch the hammock fabric and the underquilt fabric together, creating a very secure, non permanent, easily moved connection point.

Good call! I can't believe I never thought of this.

This is a good solution but did you try the quilt clips built into the Chameleon? They are in your pictures under the tie outs.

What would you attach the quilt clips to?

They are designed to clip to the primary suspension (shock cord) running the length of the under quilt.

I use a similar clip on pullout to attach to my tarp for my exterior double ended tarp pole mod. I got mine from Dutchware gear. Great accessory to have and thanks to the OP for showing me a new and clever way to use this gear to adjust the comfort of my UQ.

I should have been more specific. In his picture, and with most full length UQ's (even the UGQ's with the attachment feature added, unless used with a hammock pull out in the exact correct location), there is no exposed suspension to attach to. The grosgrain/shock cord combo pretty much just pops out of the pack hooks.

I've not had that experience of the suspension popping out on other quilts but Dutch did say that Hammock Gear quilts use a smaller diameter primary shock cord so that may be why you are experiencing this. Either way this is still a good way to keep in in place and if one could jettison the extra shock cord that's even a better option.

Yep, the quilt hooks on the Chameleon definitely do not work with the Hammock Gear underquilt.
And I agree, would be nice if Dutch or Tato could re-vamp this clip with a positive locking closure that doesn't require the shock cord.

Got mine from Dutch too, intending to use as side panel pullouts, but since they work so well on the quilt I'll have to get a couple more!
