Casual, you do not have to dress up.

I do not drink, so I cannot recommend a bar/brewery.

Famous Louise’s. Complete with Shug pics on the wall. And a tasty strawberry rhubarb pie.

Just found this thread. Wife and I are into knee dragging and recently did an Arkansas mountain trip (10th wedding anniversary trip)without “base camping”. Usually, when we do The Dragon area of TN/NC, we rent a cabin and return each night. This AR trip, we packed saddlebags and just took off. Can’t wait to try it again!

Wow, memories. A few years ago my wife and I had ridden the Dragon. Not the best place for an overweight touring rig, sooo many turns!

On the way home we took the trip through Dollywood area. Ugh, I hate traffic. At some point we decided to get out of there and grabbed the Interstate north. When it seemed appropriate I pulled over and took out the map (yes they still make those) and asked my wife to pick an exit in southern VA. Her choice turned out to have a road sign in someones front yard that said "Dragon's Tail", or something like that. That was it, no other commercialized junk etc. It had a lot of those 358* turns in it, what a ride!. I'm looking at google maps now to see if I can find it.

I want to say it was off I81 in VA, the road was 16? Possibly in Marion? I can't be certain. If that's correct, then there were so many more tight turns up ahead we went decided take 42E from there toward Roanoke. Saw a number of Bison herds along the way. What beautiful ride.

Can't make any suggestions about camping though as we were strictly hoteling the whole trip. Would love to go back with our tensa4s now. Looking to pick up a CanAm as my legs are too short for most touring rigs these days, that and health issues.

Have fun and stay stay safe out there!
