    Hey Hangers

I have been hanging for one year now. Most of my detailed understanding has come from this site. I started hanging with my son's Scout Troop. It took me a year, but I'm finally getting my gear dialed in. I'm making my own now. So far it's just been underquilts and top quilts, but tarps and hammocks are coming soon. I can feel it.

Welcome and congrats on making your own gear. A tarp would be an important part of the setup in the PNW

I assume you mean you hang with a tarp made by someone else and will go DIY soon to match the other gear you have already made? If not, I would suggest at least carrying a cheapie blue tarp, piece of Tyvek or some form of cover for those nights when the weather suddenly changes if you dont already. I cant imagine not having my tarp with me, or at least something to cover up in a sudden rain shower.

    Welcome from SW Missouri.

Um, a hammock would be helpful too, I would think. (Joking. I know you're talking about what you've been making.)

    Welcome!

Making Tarps isn't too difficult. Just takes patience and planning.
I'm building a hammock next. Haven't tried quilts yet.
