Have I made the right choice with the Minifly ?

I've ordered the Minifly but feel I've made the wrong choice.

The choice between these two tarps is extremely harder than it sounds lol I already have a Superfly and the Edge. I wanted something that can be my in between tarp. Something that will work in the winter when my mrs is using the Superfly.

Is there anyone with first hand experience with these two tarps tell me what you prefer and why ?

Remember, that if you don't like it, you can return it. They have specific rules about returns, but my experience has been that Warbonnet is real easy to work with. I used my Superfly year round and loved it. I can see using the Edge in the summer and the Superfly in the Winter. These hybrid tarps never made much sense to me - if you already owned summer and winter tarps. I'm not one to collect a lot of gear, so if I don't have a specific purpose for it, I sell it.

    Have fun out there.

Warbonnet makes killer gear. I don’t think you made a bad choice, those things are sweet man. But like MM says they are super good guys to work with. Sounds like you have all three types to choose from now. Might be fun to have all those.

That decision depends on you and your uses but I personally like my Minifly but sometimes wish I'd gone with the Thunderfly. If you do not like it they are easy enough to sell here and upgrade.

Dude, IMHO the Minifly is sweet. I don't think you have made a mistake at all. The Minifly is just an Edge with half doors added on for superior end protection. I say keep the Minifly and sell the Edge here on HF to get most of what you spent back; then the Minifly will still be your "in-between tarp", and when you don't need them, pin the half doors back and convert it to "Edge mode"...

I just patterned the Minifly half doors when I made my new DIY Badlander 11'x10' tarp, and I think they are fantastic...

I remember when I first started lurking here, folks were using postage stamp size tarps, and surviving..
I truly understand the larger coverage thing, especially if you stay in one place for awhile, or for any other reason that suits you..
The small difference between the two won't make or break you..
All being said.... I own the thunderfly.... lol..
We would be one step closer to world peace, if everyone slept in a hammock..

I love my minifly and agree with kitsapcowboy. Keep the minifly and sell the edge.

Size-wise, the Thunderfly is pretty much exactly half-way between Superfly and Edge. The Minifly is the same size as the Edge plus the mini-doors.
