    Cordage comparison chart...

After spending about an hour putting this together, I'm almost positive someone has done this long before I thought of it.

If this sort of info has already been aggregated, I'd love to see where. If not... I can keep going and put it on Google docs for people to access/add to.

Edited this post to bring this information forward from another message that was posted by the OP. Deb

Here is the Google Sheets link to this chart:
    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...gid=2093093127

I have enabled sharing, which should allow people to add info and comment. I am not aware of any protections on the document. Feel free to try it out. This will probably require access from a computer with the Chrome browser, or with the Google Sheets app on a phone or tablet.

Nice chart. You may consider one additional column: weight bearing (people worthy) or accessory (guy line, tarp suspension, draw cord, etc)

Looks good to me. Please do put it out for sharing when you feel it is complete.

Hmm... I'm not sure I want to make that designation. I'm going with manufacturer info only, and on the pages I'm seeing, they don't overtly make the distinction between people-OK and not people-OK. I can see its value, but maybe we can let end users make the judgement from breaking strength.

What are some other manufacturer websites that I can pull from?

    see, this is useful.

    I would add:
    twisted mason line
    braided mason line
    nylon clothesline
nylon 40# line (cheap stuff at walmart)
    reflective line from Nite-Ize
    gutted paracord
microcord (sold on spools in bright colors at hardware store)
various webbing straps (1", 2", polyester, nylon, etc.)

Ahead of you on the Nite Ize... behind on everything else.

Also... Z-Line, which I have no idea whether is spliceable...

If the info is readily available, I'll add it.
