PA> Allegheny National Forest Help Please

    Hello Everyone.

I am looking for some information about the Rimrock Morrison Trail and surrounding area. Specifically I am interested in campsites somewhat close to the developed overlook accesable from 454. I need spot for one hammock and one tent. Wanting to take in the sunset at the overlook. It looks like a short bushwack from the Rimrock/morrison loop to the road. is there an established route?
    any help would be appreciated.
I'd quote a certain book, but that is not allowed.

In this topo map screen shot the waypoint mark close to the "n" in the Campbell Run label is a good campsite. I am sure you can bushwhack across where the old jeep trail is on the map at the end of Campbell Run. Otherwise, if you don't want to bushwhack the dashed line is a defined spur trail that connects to the Rimrock Trail Loop.

That looks like CalTopo maybe, but Hillmap is another similar website I use for Topos. Very easy to use.

This screen shot was from Trimble Outdoors where I had my tracks and waypoints uploaded to and yes it uses the CalTopo maps. Trimble Outdoors no longer exists which is unfortunate because it used to be a really nice way to share trips with others. Trimble still has the online CalTopo maps available at MyTopo. The CalTopo maps are available at other locations online as well.

If you have an android phone Backcountry Navigator is worth checking out. The free version is a 21 day trial to test it out before buying. I have used it for years now and really like it. You just have to make sure to download the map sections ahead of time.
