    Underquilt protector with snaps?

I've been doing some research on diy UQPs, and it seems most of them are a lightweight breathable material with shock cord and sometimes a clew.

Has anyone used Kamsnaps for UQPs? I was thinking snaps could be used to secure the sides (maybe overkill?), or maybe you could use snaps as the primary method of attachment to a Costco UQ or diy hammock (could see where folks might not be keen on putting snaps on their more expensive UQs).

On a sort of related note, what about using an UQP as a way to suspend an extra top quilt underneath you for layering without having to make holes or anything in the top quilt - e.g., a winter trip at temperatures below your spouse's interest level when their nice, fluffy topquilt would otherwise be sitting home in the closet? Maybe some clothespins or binder clips in a few places?
