Smile Hello from Alaska - Moto Adventuring

Howdy! I have a long history of wilderness camping including winter. Now my main focus is camping while traveling by motorcycle and wanted to give hammocks a try. Going all in! I have an upcoming trip in June up into Canada to the Arctic Ocean. Looking forward to hanging around

Welcome! I love motorcycle camping, and it's becoming more and more a part of my whole 'camping/backpacking package'.

If you like what you are seeing here, maybe consider becoming a donating member. The reason I mention that, is there is a great forum area for motorcycle camping in the donating members area of the site.

Welcome to the forums. Sounds like quite the interesting trip you have planned to the Arctic circle. Keep us posted on how that goes.

Welcome to the madness Ken! I'm a long time hammock camper who just got back into motorcycling after a 40 year hiatus. I bought a dual sport/adventure type bike for the sole purpose of hammock camping trips. The Trans America Trail is my fantasy trip but I'll be starting off this summer by riding the Mid Atlantic Backcountry Discovery Route which begins on the NY border near Corning and ends in Damascus VA. It's a little over 1000 miles and consists of 80% dirt roads etc and 20% paved country roads. Have a great trip.

Welcome aboard Ken... another motorcycle camper here too.

What bike(s) do you ride? I assume if you're in AK & headed to the Arctic Ocean, it's an dual-sport or adventure bike of some sort? Inquiring minds want to know!

I ride a 2012 Suzuki Vstrom 1000 set up for gravel roads, long hauls and camping in the woods.
