A stomach sleeper in a GE.... who knew?

I've been loving my WBRR for several years now but wanted to try a gathered end. Got a single layer 1.6 Blackbird with whoopies and a Hammock Gear phoenix UQ.

I had always assumed that since I am a stomach sleeper I wouldn't be able to sleep in a GE, which is why I bought the WBRR several years back. However I noticed that I always slept on my side in the RR, so I decided to try the GE.

I have to say that I am loving it a lot more than I thought I would. I actually prefer the GE to the bridge now. I sleep very comfortably on my side in the BB and it will now be my go to for hiking since it is lighter. Though I will always have a special place in my heart for the WBRR, it was my first love after all.

I can understand why you passed along the WBRR. I too went through a similar process thinking a WBRR would be the best choice. However, although I am not a stomach sleeper, I do like to side sleep and have found ninety degree hammocks, e.g. Hammocktent Alpha, Beta, or Gamma UL to be the most comfortable hammock for doing such. Don't get me wrong, I do use and like my DH Sparrow and WBBB XLC, but still find the ninety degrees to be the most comfortable hammocks.

I assume the wbrr is too tippy and taught to be a stomach sleeper? Or is it width and arm placement?

    single layer 1.6 Blackbird
Did not know they were selling a 1.6 now.

My wife ( The Terminator ) is 5ft 3 and can sleep on her stomach on her RR.

I have talked to people who claim they can sleep on their stomach in a GE hammock but have not seen it in person
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

For me I wasn’t comfortable stomach sleeping in the WBRR because I couldn’t put my arms up around my head. I had to basically sleep like a mummy face down.

It was only tippy the first time I tried using it. Once I figured out how to enter/exit, move around in it properly I was very stable.

For me the WBRR is worth the extra weight so I do not have the fiddle with adjusting the under quilts on a gathered end all night long. It's not a big problem when it's warmer but in cold weather I can't rest due to the inability to keep the quits in place.

The 1.6 single layer is awesome. I went with it for light weight hiking.

I find that when I am napping I’ll sleep on back. But through the night whether I am in my RR or BB I side sleep very comfortably in both.

Out of curiosity I layed on my stomach in the BB, I’m not sure how anyone can stomach sleep like that unless you have the flattest laying hammock known to man.
