MiniFly Tarp Before and After Rain

I wanted to see how the MiniFly handled a heavy rain with brisk winds.

The before rain pic shows a silver thermarest UQ protector. After pic is following two bands of overnight rains and brisk wind. The UQP was removed prior to the rain, thanks to a snapped cord.

Everything’s dry inside, but what’s impressive is very little slack in the tarp, No adjustments.

Good to know, thanks for posting your success. This will be helpful info should people be going back and forth putting line tensioners on their tarps

Every time I see those new WB tarps I'm tempted to get one. Is this silnylon or silpoly? 20D or 30D? Good looking tarp!

Thanks Brewmaker and Nick, glad you like the post.

The tarp is 20d silpoly. We’re getting a shower this evening, so I’ll weigh the tarp in the morning to contrast with the dry weight of .77 lb

Thanks for sharing. I’m taking my minifly out this weekend for its inaugural run with rain/snow in the forecast.

Capehiker, I hope you post your experience!

Here’s the various weights of my MiniFly...

Minifly as delivered in stuff sack: 0.774 lb or 349 Gms

Minifly in stuff sac with attached Dutch Flyz and Zingit and Lawson lines: 0.834 lb or 378 Gms

Minifly after an overnight shower: 0.862 lb or 390 Gms

12 Gms of water remained on the 20d Silpoly and it’s suspension and lines after a rain and hours of high humidity.

No shaking the Minifly to remove beaded rain occurred prior to placement in the sack.

    Impressive!

Thanks for the write up. I've been considering getting one of these for my girlfriend, so it's good to see it holds up so well in a shower.
