Never been in an Amok or seen one but for those of you who have, do the straps/buckles/fabric, etc on the inside of the hammock bug you while sleeping? I've only ever slept in a gathered end and they are pretty simple inside with just fabric around you. I like the concept of the Amok but wondering if you ever get bothered by the straps/buckles, etc that surround you? Thanks!
nah. you have to reach out almost arms length to reach them intentionally, they're not something you're just going to brush against while sleeping
for what it's worth, you're generally going to have them let out all the way while sleeping, so there's not any flappy bits left anyway
Thanks very much for the feedback. As a pretty devoted side sleeper, I may have to try this one out!
Placed my order today for the 3.0. Looking forward to trying it out!! Thanks again to everyone for your feedback on it.
This thread has been very helpful. I'm thinking of ordering the 3.0 for my lady for Kayak trips. Thinking of going with their pad too...Not really an option for me until the XL comes out.
I think they're great for paddling trips
because you've got the pad already, if you don't find a good tree config, you can always set them up as a little tent/bivvy using poles, or paddles, or sticks as the uprights
