So, the tarp mod survived gale force winds with weekend. Made a big difference to the tarp not pounding on the head or door end. Until the stakes starting pulling up because ground was saturated with rain water and the wind kept howling heh

just purchased an Amok 3.0 . how are they with non-amok tarps ?
I can vouch for the Warbonnet Superfly covering it.....https://flic.kr/s/aHsmkFrBzW

what if I turned the mamajamba 90 degrees ?
I don't think that will work with any standard tarp. The sewn ridgeline has tie outs directly along that center line. The "other" side(s) have tie outs on the corners. You would have to sew tie outs on the center line of the sides. Your Mamajamba is the exact size of the Superfly only without doors. So according to Shug, it will work. The Kelty 12x12 tarp would certainly work giving you12 feet in both directions as opposed to 11x10 on the Mamajamba

simply added beastee dee rings to the center tie out loops, and a tent pole from dutch to keep the tarp from collapsing against the head end (and to a lesser extent, the feet) when it's crazy windy
Thanks Tikker, just a few follow up questions.
1. How did you attach the beastie rings to your existing tie outs. I ask this as I have no sewing skills.
2. What length pole did you buy or did you buy sections and make it yourself.

I cheated. I simply used side cutters and snipped the exact middle of the d ring and just slid it onto the existing loop that the cord lock is on. I bought the pole parts from dutch ( 13 segments, 2 end pieces and some shock cord) it came to about 15 bucks maybe less. 5 minutes of work maybe to get it set up
