    A little bit late introduction...

I actually joined the forum back in 2012 when I was researching hammocks as a gift for a friend. I ended up getting him a Warbonnet Blackbird based on what I learned here on the forum and he is still enjoying his hammock. About a year ago I decided to pick up a hammock so that I could have a more comfortable setup while enjoying another hobby of mine. My other hobby involves hiking to mountain tops and setting up a small portable amateur radio and antenna. I am often 'playing radio' for several hours before hiking out and a hammock was my answer for the discomfort and stiffness that sitting on the ground (even with various pads) created. What a difference a hammock has made and I now start the hike back to the trailhead feeling refreshed and ready to rock.

Here's a pic of my setup with my radio hanging from the ridgeline (I now have a better looking radio 'leash' made out of spliced lash-it).

That looks awesome! What fabric and color is your hammock? That green is absolutely beautiful.

You should check out Ridgeline Media Systems Hangtime Hook...

I have no affiliation with this company, nor have I used their stuff, but people seem to like it. It might work well with your hardware.

Ha! I am not usually that nice... but he really deserved it for all of the help he had given me over the years.

I think it is just forest green in the wide 1.6 hexon. Definitely looks quite at home in it's native habitat.

Yeah, I just read in that thread that someone was using it for their 1-lb Bluetooth speaker.

Yessir, that's me! The hook seems to be able to handle up to about 2 pounds with the clamp that comes on it. That clamp is attached to a standard size 17mm accessory ball so you can attach any number of aftermarket devices and holders, I feel the hook itself is plenty strong enough to handle a 3lb radio if you used the right mount attachment!
