    Newb DIY suspension questions

I've been trying to find these answers somewhere in the DIY forums already, but with over 500 posts, it is a daunting task, so I gave up. If anyone could direct me to the applicable posts, I would greatly appreciate it.
    Here are my questions:

Do people DIY their own tree straps? If so, what materials do you use & where are some recommended sources for those materials?

Does anyone have recommended sources of cordage materials, like Amsteel, Zing-It, mason's line and no tangle? I found an older post, but most of the links seem to be dead.

I'm sure I could eventually figure all of this out on my own, but I thought it'd be easier to rely on the efficiency of the hive mind.

    Thanks in advance.

What sort of suspension do you use?

Generally for everything I get it from Dutch though.

I haven't exactly decided yet, but I'm leaning towards the tree hugger marlin-spike toggle with whoopie sling combo.

If you haven’t been to Dutch’s site, you should. Just mind the rabbit hole...

dutchwaregear.com will fill all such needs. Many others too.

I have made straps from Dutch's materials. Lots of great choices.

I'll third the recommendation for Dutch. Another great option is Ripstop By the Roll. RBTR doens't have the shiny dutch titanium bling, but does have suspension bits like webbing, amsteel, and zing-it/lash-it...

All the time. These are RBTR OI polyester straps with Dutch Beetle Buckles and sewn-in Dutch Clips.

I just made some tree saver straps out of 2" webbing from Dutch. Sewed loops in each end, for a finished length of 5'. To the free end, I attached a length of mule tape, also purchased from Dutch, and used a Beckett hitch to connect to the continuous loop on my hammock.
