Okay – I’ve read the Ultimate Hang, watched Shug’s excellent suspension videos, and done some searching here.
At the risk of asking a dumb question and/or broaching a controversial topic, why not just use a Becket hitch every time? The webbing is already there, it’s less moving parts, and it’s a quick-release knot. Maybe a better built-in drip line too? Is it a weight issue with being able to bring less webbing with other methods? For sure cinch buckles seem to use the same amount of webbing. Still learning...
p.s. It turns out I have been using that knot for awhile under a different name for joining small lengths of rope together, etc.
