Yep, I used that. Very nice pictoral. But I'm not into reading hundreds or thousands of posts to see others post the hangups they discovered while doing it.

Like I said in my earlier thread, I learned on my own that doing the locked brummel first was the best idea. I had reversed it and done the whoopie first. Oops. It still worked, but it was more difficult that way.

Also, a 10" bury on the fixed eye is not neccessary. If you start with 6" prior to tapering, then the distance from the end of the taper to the end of the bury is sufficient for the fixed eye. It nets you about 5" of bury based on the specifications for a Locked Brummel Splice.
