I've tried a lot of different things because I suffer from mild scoliosis and struggle with lumbar pain/hip tension & pain/leg & knee pain in varying amounts if I don't sleep in a way that elevates my knees when on my back, especially in my bed. I've tried a lot of inflatable solutions and almost all leave the back of my legs feeling wet and clammy. The commercial one I've found and really like, both for my head and knees, is the Nemo Fillo inflatable pillow. It is VERY comfortable, lays flat (so my head/legs don't roll off), is insulated, and doesn't leave me feeling clammy. I also like using a DIY pillow I made using some scraps of Climashield and hammock material. It's a little heavier and bulkier, but a good night's sleep that is pain-free is high on my priority list when trekking.

I second the swim toy idea; maybe a little inflatable shark or dolphin would do the trick.

Keep at it. You'll find Nirvana.

I empathize with all of you who struggle with ailments that interfere with a good night sleep, and appreciate your efforts to find a way to make your hammock work. My shoulders are FUBAR'd from gym accidents [read: stupidity.. trying to compete with kids half my age], but I feel better in the hammock than my bed.

I consider myself fortunate that the absolute best sleep I get is in my DIY hammock.. no knee pillow, no neck pillow... just hop in. Wish I could convince my wife to go hammock full time, but no way that's going to happen. I am resigned to not even mention it to her...under the 'marriage continuation' clause.

Not being a 'D' about it, just acknowledging my gratitude.
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....

Klymit cush pillow has been working well under my knees. Its light and long enough that it stays under my knees all night. I need it to sleep really comfrtably in any of my ge hammocks.

Thanks Gadget. That's an exact oversized version of what i was imagining. Walmart sells little drybags. Now to find the right size airtight plastic bag that won't slowly leak.

That actually sounds like a really good idea.

Alternatively, the Klymit Luxe Pillow is 22" x 12.5" x 5.5" and only 6.4 oz. I got one on sale for use when I'm on the ground because it's really too big for most hammocks.

Dollar store hack would be a regular stuff sack that's the approximate dimensions you want, and then get a couple of those punching balloons to inflate inside. https://www.amazon.com/HoFire-Balloo...+balloon&psc=1

Be careful that too much un-insulated air space under your legs might make for a colder night during the winter.
