I'd skip the tie outs, the one hammock I have with them they rarely get used. Don't have them on my 64" wide Raven and I don't see that they would be much help.

Peak shelf, or shelves, are a must! Head end for sure, too handy not to have.

Just order your suspension of choice from DH with the hammock and be done with it, the extra gadgets are just that.... I've been using the becket hitch since I got the Raven, never though I'd give up my UCR's but it's just so simple with the longer straps and a knot.

Many folks eschew the fancy bling and hardware for simplicity, lower cost, a sense of DIY, and personal preference. My used Raven came with the cinch buckles and they worked great. They are light, simple, easily adjustable, and effective. When I ordered my Sparrow I went simple continuous loop and will roll my own suspension.

I've decided I like my ridge line organizers, to NOT sag. So don't like the one's that quick attach of drape the RL. So I switched over to the mesh type with a channel. So to attach means to undo the Ridge line. Hence I decided to just get DH to put theirs on. Some like to switch stuff up so don't mind switching out.

No, none of that stuff is needed to hang a hammock. Dream Hammock builds hammocks with and without complete suspensions to suit your needs.

Yeah, I'm one who doesn't like to use hardware to hang my hammock (I have an ongoing and vicious inner debate about whether soft shackles count as hardware). Some people really seem to get joy from using the bling, though. As a (fake) engineer, I can really appreciate the beauty in Dutch's hardware designs. I fully expect to be buying some bling for my wife, who has an entirely different outdoors philosophy.

Congratulations on your new hammock purchase, I really like my Raven and I don't think you can find a better value in a hammock. Now comes the wait and the routine checking of the order status page

I’ve been checking the order status page an entirely unhealthy amount of times. And I’m still at least 2 weeks out haha

I really really like my Raven. I did cont loops and got beetle buckles and like the simplicity. I should have ordered a RL organizer, but got one from Dutch for a really good price. It was a lot easier to install than I thought

If it's not too late... don't go "wide as possible" - instead do something around 62-64" wide. That's what the owner suggests to many people. I kind of wish "as wide as possible" wasn't the default option on their page because it's a little misleading and might make you think it's the best option.
