I have the knotty mod on all my hammocks. If definitely helps, but only so much. I recommend just sewing it up and trying it out. You'll then be able to evaluate how much if any you want to cut down on your next hammock.

I don’t like the deepness of the hammock with the wide fabrics, especially if you tighten the edges at all. It feels like getting out of a hole.
I changed the whipping to loosen the edges a bit, and it made getting out much better.
I have an 11’ XL in addition to an 11’ regular. I’m 5’11, and found that my top quilt, and to a degree, my feet slip off a regular. The XL, as mentioned, definitely has floppy sides. I normally lay in such a way that the flop is mostly on my feet. I don’t find either any easier/harder to enter or exit.
I keep meaning to cut it down to 65” or so, as others have, since I feel that’d be the sweet spot for me.
The knotty mod can only take out so much flop. It’s really not a full solution to that issue.
