Funny you should mention that, because I am trying to decide between a Dream Hammock Sparrow or the Blackbird XLC..... This decision is turning my hair grey!!! The more I read here, the more stressed out I am getting. Hahahahaha

Find and visit a group hang. Those are some pretty popular hammocks - you're likely to see and maybe even try 'em.

    And, Welcome!

I have a Sparrow but I almost bought a Blackbird XLC. I'm very happy with the Sparrow. And everything I read about the Blackbird makes me think it's an equally fine purchase.

I ended up with the Dream Hammock because I remembered this was a long-term purchase and a product I would use often. And that it's my personality to customize and want things adjusted to me.

I must admit I wanted to support Dream Hammock for the effort they put in their website, their smart order status system and the sheer audacity of taking customization to its extreme conclusion.

For me, a big plus for the Blackbird was that all the details are taken care of in a good default configuration and colors. At first, all the Dream Hammock options overwhelmed me. But I took the time to understand and think on the measurements, details and accessories I really needed and what was just extra weight. I got more comfortable as I understood my long term needs better. I think that's key.

My biggest unknowns were taken care of by emailing the staff. That solved questions of fabric choice, length and width. The remaining decisions were less significant things like colors and how many pockets I wanted.

The Sparrow was more money than a BlackBird, but as long as it lasts a long time through quality stitching, durable zippers and fabric, I'll see it as worth it. So far so good.
