    Very funny-but you have no idea how bad the english is in some of the posts here.

    eg "grinded" instead of "ground" or "grind" in a knife post and many others.

    At least this one was simply wrong word

    One valid reason to go to 1/8" amsteel CL's is that the larger diameter line makes it easier to release a Becket Hitch knot. I have done that and I only weigh in at 145 lbs.

    Well done.

    Interesting to see only 35% line strength retained with a bowline on HMPE.

    One more reason to use thimbles and eyes on smaler diameter lines.

    The should have also put up stats for UHMPE as thats what most of us use.

    Thanks!!! Finally, we seem to have the answer:

    Grommet configuration highlights bending losses
    Grommet strength is actually <2x rope strength
    Current industry recommendations range from 1.6-1.8x rope strength
