Overnight winter Hike in Killarney ON

I did a quick overnight trip on The La Cloche Silhouette Trail in Killarney Provincial Park. Temperature during the day was about -13șC and overnight was around -19șC. Hiked in about 7KM to and set up a campsite for the night.

    Hey LMB

Yes , I just plop the steak on the coals, flip a few times and it's done! As long as the coals are HOT it's good! then I just flick off any last little coals that are stuck on before I enjoy!

For the oatmeal - I eat right from the pouch - works great and there is no clean up!

    Cheers !

I'm going for 3 nights this weekend !
That was a gear test and to see how well the snowshoes travel as well as how fast I can travel.

Great trip, nice video! I've never thought of eating oatmeal right from the package though. Are there any logistical issues managing the package with hot water in it?

I love snowshoeing trips! It usually means I don't see anyone else until I return to the parking lot.

No issue with hot water in the oatmeal pack
Normally I boil the water and make the coffee first then set the water pot in my cosy for a bit while I enjoy the coffee
Then I make the oatmeal after the water sits for a few minutes

I just find eating from the pack leaves no dishes

In winter the only time I want to clean my cook pot is dinner - when I have a fire for lots of hot water
Otherwise it's out of a package. Or cup of soup or jerky and trail mix !
