Okay ... I am going to be ordering one. Waiting to see if there happens to be a Presidents’ Day sale this weekend, if I could be so lucky lol

I got my 0* on black Friday. Used it through out the winter and did me extremely well. I'm planning my thru of the OT and just had to order a new 30* due to some gear failure. I went with the econ for a few different reasons. One you just can't beat the "Bang for Buck" value of these quilts. The weight to me is intensification for the price point. Still adding this has my baseweight around 8 LBS. You can not go wrong with an Econ if you are on a budget.
I couldn't justify the cost difference for 4 ounces seeing as this was my first set of quilts. Maybe if Ive gotten several years of use of this set and was serious about dropping some ounces from my base weight would I consider the regular quilts. The Econs are just such a good price

Just bought my second econ - have a 40* and a 20* coming soon. I'd gladly carry a few more ounces and save $$. Plus it makes the budget goalie happy too! After all, it's getting out there that means the most (at least to me)!
I'm also interested in a Phoenix Econ 40. I have been trying to find some pics of it to see how big and bulk it is when packed.
Does someone have one and can share a pic or two?

I bought a 30 degree burrow before the ECON line was introduced. It's an awesome quilt. I later purchased a 30 degree underquilt that uses the ion fabric with the less expensive down insulation. Honestly, the ion fabric feels better to me. I'll take the weight penalty from now on
The Econ line is what got me off a pad and into quilts. I started with the 20 UQ last year and just ordered a 20 TQ. I'm also making my own Costco Gemini-style quilt as a backup/summer option. Yes, the Econs are heavier but it's worth the difference in cost to me since the regular stuff will be out of my price range for a while.
I mean, you're talking about a 3-4oz weight difference for $100/40%ish off. Even as a weight conscious hiker, I'll take that deal. And the quality is absolutely there; it's not like a cut rate cheap item.
If you want to go way lighter you have to jump up to the $300-ish area (Enlightened Equipment, etc)
The econ quilts would have been considered as ultralight just a few years ago. All else being equal in your pack, I can say with almost full certainty that no one would feel the additional 3-4oz. I certainly can't.
