    I need to make a beak or two!!!! I have a hex 12' tarp from COGS and could always borrow my wife's winter tarp, but I kinda like my hex tarp...

    The sweet thing about a DIY beak is that after making one beak for one end, unless your waterproof fabric is finished identically on both sides, your scraps are perfectly pre-cut to make a second beak for the other end!

    The exception is with wide waterproof fabric like Xenon Wide; by rotating one of the beak halves 90 degrees you fashion a beak for one end of a standard-width tarp from just two yards of wide fabric (approximately 72" square).
