Thanks for the heads up!
I just ordered a 600 spool of blue.
I have lots of uses for it and would like to have a second color.
Anyone want to trade 100 ft or so of another color for blue?

I received my yellow spool and it has a blue tracer. It actually looks pretty neat.

Looking for some additional feedback from those who made a purchase. Is the consensus that the colors are rubbing off more than the non-tracer variety? Any other noticable differences during handling, splicing, or actual use? Any idea why it's discounted so heavily compared to the non-tracer? Wonder if Samson is discontinuing it.
No clue why it's discounted. I can't tell any differences between them and what I've bought from Dutch and rbtr. The black is solid black and the silver has a light green tracer to it that I don't mind at all. In the picture I put 25' of black and silver on the rolls. I think the black was from dutchware and the silver was from ripstop by the roll.
Edit: to address the color wearing off, I've seen that from all the colors of amsteel. Silver has been the most resistant to it from my experience. All the others while you're working with it you'll see the color wearing off a little. But it's not too bad. Doesn't deter me from using them. I see no difference in wear between this amsteel and the others I've purchased elsewhere.

There was a rejected batch of amsteel a couple months ago. It was only because of this cosmetic defect and we received a huge batch that Samson contacted us and asked to ship it back before we ever got a chance to open the skid. This is that batch and I believe everyone is getting a great deal on perfectly good Amsteel and when it is gone, they hope there won't be more. It only shows up on the lighter colors.

That's been my experience too. Someone had mentioned that the tracer version was worse, so I wanted to see if others were experiencing something similar. The black spool on the left looks like their 600' size. That's what I've used in the past. What size is the monster spool on the right? 1200' or 3280'? Would you mind throwing a tape measure on that and telling me the width and diameter of the spool. I'd like to know if that would fit in the area I currently have my other spools.
Diameter of 12". Height of ~7". Silver is 1200'. Black 600'
