Dan and I did that when we were putting up cedar shingles on a house in the winter, up on staging. Talk about cold, but we cut that out as inner soles and it really helped a lot in our sorels. it was a cold winter to be siding a house.

Not sure about out there. In the woods there is still some snow around here, but for the most part in the sunny areas it is pretty well melted. Should be pretty much gone unless we get a hammering again.

Some of us would like to do a hike saturday after breakfast. its not a far drive, you hit a couple nice peaks, its probably a couple of hours on the trail. its a loop so you come right back to the car. mt watatic and nutting hill.
if anyone would like to hike on sunday we could do something then too, likely after people are heading out or whatever works.
Watatic is about 3 mile hike as I recall. If people don't want to go that far (it's really not that far) we can go around the corner to Willard Brook State Park. No views, but a nice hike along a stream and a loop hike. We can decide when we get together Saturday morning. But Jerry wanted us (Bob and me) to advertise the hike options we are planning to get you all excited about hiking. None of the hikes are difficult just wear sturdy shoes and warm clothes. Watatic is a little steep but not bad. We did not want to do much more than a couple hour hike because there is so much other fun stuff to do.
Let's hear it for the weekend---Woohoo, I can't wait to sleep in my hammock! (not tonight though--sounds like a freight train is moving through it is so windy).

Quick note for anyone who has never been to Ashby and I am totally ignoring the fact that Jerry may have already covered this but I am in a hurry to get a dining hutch and base done before this weekend so don't feel like looking: There are showers and real toilets at the campground. The showers are pay showers, with quarters. The dude that runs the place has change, or bring your own. I can't remember how much it cost but it was totally long enough to shower well!
See ya friday!!

I'm really looking forward to this weekend, looks like it will my daughter and I are going to make it. Are other kids still coming?
Weather looks a little cooler (and snowy) than I was hoping for. Does anyone have an extra 20* ish UQ I could borrow for my daughter, please?
Thanks!
Dave
