Anyone coming have one of the "Pie-Irons"?
I'd love to try one out before plunking down my dough...

    [See what I did there?]

I'm wishing I can come, and may still figure out how to do it, but I do have a number of different kinds of pie irons. All are The Rome brand. I'd suggest sticking with those. I have a double "sandwich/panini" style, a long breadmaker (the diameter of hot dog rolls, but about 2 1/2 times as long, and my sister is currently using the triple hot-dogger and a single burger maker (round).

    I recommend any of them.

I find I end up usually just taking the long breadmaker and making everything in that one. Who cares what shape your burger is when you're camping. I can do burgers, dogs, sausage, bread, whatever. I like the double as the perfect size, but it has ridges on it to make the grill marks and that makes it very hard to clean. I keep thinking about grinding them off, and then that one will be perfect.

If I can figure out how to get up there, I'll bring them along. It's been so long since I've been up to Maine.

I did order a run of new stickers for 2018. I made the order a week ago, and I still don’t have a shipping notice. They may or may not arrive in time

I'm headed up to Owls Head to visit my dad. Quick overnight and yes, I'll be hanging. Anyways, as y'all make you way out of Brunswick, gaze to your left as you hit the highway section. It will just kill your hammock hanging heart. They cleared in between the lane directions and the trees are just all perfect for hammock camping!! But alas, it's the highway median strip. A travesty plain and simple...

elfLiza and I found the same thing down at the entrance to the US Army base at Ft. Stewart, GA... dozens of beautiful [and randomly placed] tall pines with gracious lawns in between [well policed up by the discipline squaddies... not even loose pine cones].... and well within range of the entrance gate gun emplacements.

Saw that today and can't help wondering what was the purpose of that clearing and how many tax dollars were wasted by the DOT.
