    2018 Winter NEHHA trip report

Thought I would get this started.
Thank you to the Tim and Pete for setting up this hang. I walked on ice (a first for me) and learned how to ice fish- even rode a fat bike across the lake!) pretty cool. Thanks to Eric for letting us play on the bike. I am happy to say I did not wipe out.
Although some complained it wasn't cold enough it was perfect in the upper 40's during the day and 30's at night. I enjoyed the pitter patter of rain on my tarp but would have enjoyed snow too.
We got lost in the woods (literally!) and ate a ton of food. There was a never-ending supply of cider, hot water and coffee over the fire.
Of course lots and lots and lots of food. This group has quite the collection of dutch oven connoisseurs.
    Pictures soon.
thank you again to those who organized this event.

    2018 Winter NEHHA trip report

You beat me to it Megan. Thanks. As always it is a great time hanging out in the woods with what I consider extended family. I love hanging in the woods with these folks. They are why I have spent the last 5-6 years organizing these hangs. Time for a break though.

On another note though, all though the weather did not cooperate for a winter hang it still was a beautiful weekend. Clear skies while ice fishing on the pond, food galore a lot of laughter all to end the weekend with a ceremonial sacrifice of a tripod that has seen something like a dozen NEHHA events and traveled hundreds of miles. Thanks for hanging the pots over the fire for us.

Thanks to everyone who made the journey up for the weekend and adding your personality to the weekend. It wouldn’t have been the same with out you.

What a great weekend, as usual! A personal low temp for me at 12° Friday night although my previous low was 13°. I'm going through withdrawal right now as we didn't have meat for dinner.

I'm going to have Sammy (Artgirl42) my daughter do a YouTube trip report asap as I took quite a few pictures and videos. Here's a couple pictures from my phone. The rest are in my camera.

I had a great time. As always, the best part of the hang is the great group of people. thanks so much for making it another one to remember.

Good times! Seems like lots of winter hangs have been spring hangs lately. Come on winter!! I love the coffee situation going on here. And Megan's sweater just screams 'cozy'.
