But the OP has proven to post such excellent advice in his short HF tenure, I guess we should agree. Go with the bright colors!
A hammock ablaze over a dying fire would be brightly colored expecially with Jeep reflectors stacked forty feet in the air!

I go with colors because I detest camo. But, I also promise not to leave my colorful stuff behind when I leave (not leaf.).

I was never a camo fan either, but some of the stuff people have been posting lately has be rethinking it. Especially when they have it all coordinated with the tarp and quilts. Pretty slick. I guess this color thing just goes into the HYOH more than anything. I just played a little defense for the earth tones since I've seen that on LNT sites (if not official lnt.org) and literature in the past.

My XLC is brown because I liked the color, and I'm to cheap to buy camo. My Wooki XL is green because I got a screaming deal on it. My Superfly is bark for the same reason.

Now I'm just hoping some poor sod will buy a topcover & UQP in bushwhack and decide they don't want it anymore so I can scoop it up. Color coordinated is great, but it gets spendy.

It does all get a bit silly, though, right? Are my reflective tieouts LNT-compliant?

I use reflective tie outs around scouts and at large group hangs; solo or small group, I'll swap 'em out for black.

My experience is reflective tie-outs are only reflective at a narrow viewing angle with the right light - it's a feature in that the lines show up for you when you are coming back "from a walk", but don't highlight the whole camp. As far as LNT, I believe the first world is "Leave", not "Be". So when camping, it's alright to BE Seen. In general, I've found that most others will give a camper space if they know he/she is there.

I understand that camo is fun - though given their senses - sight/smell/color range - I'm guessing "camo" only slightly hides things (because there's a block of color pattern that is not natural) from other people, not animals. I'm guessing I could dress in bright orange and as long as I stayed still, deer would come by just as much.

My stuff is mostly earth tones and I do have a set of camo hammock and tarps. But occasionally I think that more important that being "not seen" is being found. So I do have one DIY orange hammock. Maybe I'll use it as a gear hammock.

My point it some people like camo, some like earth tones, some like rainbows. To me, it is all fine under LNT as long as you don't LEAVE it in the woods.

I have a feeling that, in addition to the OP getting banned, this thread will have run its course shortly.
