how do you manage your fronkey style bugnet

One of the worst parts of setting up and tearing down my GE hammock is the fronkey style bugnet that I bought to put over it. It takes me probably 20 minutes to unhook both ends of the hammock and get the suspension threaded up just right. I did a lot of research before I bought my first set of gear and I never saw anything about it being such a pain. This leads me to believe I am doing it all wrong!

So, those that are more learned than myself, what am I doing wrong and how can I do it better? What tips and tricks do you have to getting that mesh sock over your bear taco?

Haha, your not supposed to remove it. Put it on at home before your trip, and it stays on until you get home. Take it off after the summer and the bugs go away...

I've been using the Fronkey bugnet for at least five years. I don't recall ever spending more than 60 seconds hanging it. I hang the hammock, then put on the Fronkey bugnet. It's pretty easy with Dutch Whoopie Hooks - disconnect one Whoopie Hook, put on the Fronkey bugnet, then reconnect the Whoopie Hook. Pull the Fronkey bugnet down to the other end, and repeat process. Afterwards, I put on my UQ.

Yeah, leave it on. Little bit of a nuisance putting your UQ on and taking it off. But only takes a minute with practice.

I leave my UQP on all warm season too. Outside the Fronkey net.

Off to the Uwharries for three days.

Yeah, I had tried leaving it on but then the UQ became the annoying part of getting set up. I do agree the UQ is less annoying to put on while the net is on that the net its self.

    Thanks for the advice!

I use my Fronkey when I need it. I use carabiners clipped to mule tape & simply unhook one end at a time and sleeve it over. Takes just a few moments really. One point no one touched on is that in cooler temps or breezes it cuts down some wind and gives a few degrees warmth.

I modded mine to add a 12" zipper at one end. I Ieave it on the hammock but can unzip then slide the whole net to one end while I set up the UQ. Then slide it back around the UQ and zip it up.

I leave mine on until the bug threat is over..... and I also made mods to mine by putting an opening on one end and using 3/8" velcro to seal it shut. Having the mod allows me to move it off to one side when I'm putting the quilts in place.....also it's nice to be able to move it out of the way when lounging..... btw, I don't draw bugnet in at the bottom in anymore....I just leave it opened wide....
