    New to hammocking in Oregon

    Hey,

I've been backpacking for a couple years now, and even before I started I had been curious about trying out a hammock instead of my tent (mostly for saving a little weight). I got a Kammock hammock for Christmas, and have been slowly adding gear to make it functional. I just finished my first DIY UQ, though I am still playing with suspension options for that. Looking forward to sharing ideas and learning from those of you who have been at this for years!

    Cheers,
    Seann

Welcome to Hammock Forums. You guys are lucky with all the beautiful trails in Oregon. Just not a lot of options above the tree line. You should check out Hike Oregon if you haven't already. She doesn't some beautiful Oregon hikes and it sure make me wish I had better access to Oregon.

Welcome to hanging. I spent a couple of years in Clive Bundy country over on the Malheur out of John Day before scurrying back home to MT. You have some nice country on the Eastern side of OR. When work forced me to venture over to Potland I really enjoyed the exotic food cart scene!

Thanks for the welcoming words! I've already learned a ton just combing through some of the older posts. I've been using the "Advanced Search" function and have spotted results. If you guys and gals have any tips for looking up some of the more obscure projects/ gear/ whatever, I'd love to hear them! Thanks again!

Sometimes I find that a Big Brother, aka Google, search turns up more info even within HF.
