My base weight is like 11.5 lbs. I picked stuff I know would work so I'm not too concerned about being super ultra light. People get very caught up in some number and forget to be comfortable on the trail. After all I am going to be out there for months may as well enjoy it a little.

I was looking at your profile on the Trek and you have a tent picture as the "background" type pic! Need to change that to your hammock!

The Trek actually lets us choose from like twelve stock photos for the profile background pic. Mine for instance is a dog playing next to a tent on Max Patch.

I can tell ya, when I was on max path the weather did not allow such idle pleasures

Interesting that you have to use one of their pictures. Never would have guessed that

Yeah, slim pickings on background pics for profiles. I assume its pics the Trek has rights to so they don't get in trouble with the internet police. The Trek seems to be about 95% tenters and 5% hammockers or spartan savages that just use a tarp and a bivy.

Well, even though the hammock stuff isn't in the majority it seems like it's increasing (but that may just bc now 1 or 2 people are writing compared to almost 0 before)

    It’s definitely increasing.

There was a stretch in jersey where hammocks outnumbered tents a few nights in a row

You were obviously in the cool kids group those nights. There was a group of 12 I think and 5 or 6 of them had hammocks. I camped with them a few nights along with my partner who also hammocked. It was like a hammock city. It was one of the only times I saw multiple people sharing trees.

I might’ve seen that group at one point.

Also from northern Pa thru New York I was part of a group of 4 and we all hammocked.
