I'm also interested in seeing how the hammock works in the first 600-700 miles. Seems like it could work if you're strategic, and I'd think you'd be fine after that.

And maybe follow your footsteps in 15-20 years

Yeah I was a little skeptical but Chop on here claims hammocking the whole trail is possible after he did it but I'll have to let you know if it was possible for me as it largley depends on variables like hiking speed and things I'm sure.

I purposely choose my setup to be able to go to ground so I will be fine for sure even if I have to sleep on the ground.

Ive recently discovered the Trek and really like reading people's reports. Will be even more fun to see the PCT from a hammock's perspective. Good luck and keep posting

Excellent. The trek has some very good articles on hiking, camping, gear and at least 8 or 9 on hammocking. I wrote 10 ways to make hammock camping easier and 10 ways to save weight while hammock camping for the trek. Check those out and let me know if you like them. There is more hammock content being added everyday but its mostly geared toward thru hiking as thats the treks bread and butter.

    Pack Load and Gear Video

Finally got around to posting my gear and pack load video. These are very time consuming to make and edit.

Nice. I like your gear selection. How much does it all weigh? How will you go about attaching a bear can? I'm hiking the PCT with a hammock as well. I'll be two weeks behind you as I start on April 08.
